The Cardeston Suite
Our magnificent Cardeston Suite is the true centrepiece of your day. Comprising two beautifully appointed rooms, it hosts your indoor wedding ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception – and while you’re sipping champagne in the gardens, our team expertly transforms the space ready for each next chapter of your celebration.
A grand hall in striking Georgian-Gothic style, it makes an unforgettable impression. From the ornate fireplace and intricately carved pelmets to the sparkling chandeliers overhead, every detail adds to its sense of occasion and timeless elegance.
Capacity: 110 for Indoor Ceremonies, 110 for Wedding Breakfasts (split across the two rooms) and 150 for the Evening Reception.
The Lounge
A delicate, light-filled space, the Lounge has been beautifully transformed in recent years by Stuart & Roseblade Interiors. Elegantly classical in style and perfectly positioned between the entrance hall and the Cardeston Suite, with steps leading directly out to the gardens, it offers both charm and convenience.
Many of our couples choose the Lounge for their drinks reception, where guests can mingle and unwind in refined surroundings. During the winter months, it becomes an especially inviting retreat, with friends and family often found cosied up in front of the fire.

Jaci Vianna Room
Interior designer and decorative artist Jaci Vianna played a significant role in shaping much of the castle’s décor. Her work began in 1997 in the Georgian Dining Room, where she introduced the painted monkeys and exquisite hand-pressed gold leaf detailing that adorns the walls and completes the 18th century style.
Following her passing, the Georgian Dining Room was renamed in her honour.
Today, it remains a cosy and intimate space, frequently used for private dining and smaller weddings. On a wedding day, it serves as a meeting place where the couple join with the Registrars or Celebrant ahead of the formal proceedings.
Capacity: 14 for Ceremonies and 8 for Dining.
Cedar Restaurant
Named after the magnificent Cedar of Lebanon that stands proudly at the front of the castle, the romantic Cedar Restaurant offers a relaxed yet stylish and comfortable setting, complete with an original Jacobean fireplace.
It is here that overnight hotel guests dine during their stay at Rowton Castle, and where newly married couples welcome their guests on their first morning together – sharing stories and memories over breakfast.

Formal Gardens
To the rear of the castle lie the picturesque formal gardens. Perfectly photogenic, beautifully manicured, and thoughtfully designed by Susan Dunstall and her team.
Brimming with abundant planting, including fragrant lavender, sculpted English yew, hydrangea and the most exquisite David Austin roses, the gardens provide a truly enchanting setting throughout the seasons. It is the perfect outdoor reception space.
The Linden Belvedere, the striking focal point that you see here in this photograph, is positioned before the avenue of towering lime trees.
This elegant neo-classical structure features four commanding pillars and an artistic floral mural adorning its interior wall. It is here, framed by nature and timeless architecture, that we host our unforgettable outdoor ceremonies.
Capacity: 110 for Wedding Ceremonies
Rose Walk & The Walled Garden
Reimagined by Susan Dunstall just three short years ago, the Rose Walk at the front of the castle is a truly magical setting for wedding portraits. In full bloom, it offers a romantic and timeless backdrop.
A short stroll leads you to hidden pools nestled along a tranquil woodland walk, guiding the way to a quintessentially English walled garden – an enchanting retreat that feels wonderfully secluded and serene.

Reception & Entrance Hall
As you make your entrance into the castle, our reception space offers a warmth that perfectly reflects the welcome awaiting you.
Along with the Lounge, the Reception area was updated in January 2022. The wallpaper (Wild Thing by Lewis & Wood) was chosen to enhance the panelling and add impact, but also for the monkey in the pattern which is a subtle nod to the work of longstanding Rowton designer, Jaci Vianna. An incredibly thoughtful touch.
It is in this space that you will check in to bedrooms for overnight stays and say your goodbyes to guests the morning after your wedding day.
